Tesla Dashcam Unavailable - Check USB Drive Fix

Dashcam unavailable usually means the car cannot read the USB drive, not that the cameras failed.

"Dashcam unavailable" usually means the car cannot read the USB drive, not that the cameras failed. Quick checklist:

  • Reseat the drive in the glovebox port.
  • Confirm the drive is formatted exFAT and has a TeslaCam folder.
  • Try another drive to rule out hardware failure. Cold winter mornings can also cause USB connections to be flaky for a few minutes, so let the cabin warm up and retry. If the car still will not see the drive, format it on a computer and plug it back in.
