Tesla Dashcam icons are small, but they tell you exactly what is going on.
Tesla dashcam icons are small, but they are telling you exactly what is going on. Cheat sheet:
- Red dot: Dashcam is actively recording.
- Red dot with an X: recording failed, usually a USB issue.
- Gray dashcam icon: drive not detected or not ready. When Sentry Mode is on, the icon changes and you will see a status message indicating whether it is actively monitoring or in standby. If you see anything gray or an X, check the drive, the TeslaCam folder, and the port before assuming the cameras are broken.
